Faculty/Staff iPhone and Windows Mobile Limited Support
(Rev:9.28.08)
With the soaring popularity of the iPhone and repeated requests from both iPhone and Windows Mobile users, Information Technology Services (ITS) has enabled Microsoft Active Sync on the Faculty and Staff Microsoft Exchange email server.
The Active Sync service is being provided as a courtesy for people who would like to setup their Active Sync software phones. If you choose to setup your phone with Active Sync, you do so at your own risk. There is no support for your ActiveSync issues from ITS.
Warnings and Precautions:
ITS recommends you ensure you have a backup of any data (contacts, calendaring) you have on your phone as there have been reports of people who have lost their personal contacts and calendaring after having used their phone for some time.
ITS recommends that all phones setup to receive LMU email should be password protected to prevent unauthorized access to your LMU Email account in the event of your phone being lost or stolen. Consult your owner’s manual for directions on how to password protect your phone.
If your personal phone is lost or stolen, you should immediately contact your service provider and have then end services to that phone. If your phone is an LMU-issued phone, contact Campus Business Services immediately to report your phone lost or stolen.

4. After successfully making a connection to the LMU Exchange server, you can choose which type(s) of data you would like to synchronize: Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.
