Re: OS X operating system called Snow Leopard

Apple has recently released the newest version of the OS X operating system called Snow Leopard. ITS has full intention of releasing this upgrade to our user community upon completion of compatibility and support testing. It should be available for upgrade or as an OS through RMP during the Fall Semester.

Two of the more exciting features are 64-bit computing and native Exchange support for the Mail program. 64-bit computing will need to be extensively tested and we also will need to do compatibility testing for all of our standard and lab applications. The Exchange support is only for Exchange 2007 server which we are currently in process of upgrading.

While we are also quite enthusiastic about this new OS, please be patient and wait for the completion of ITS compatibility testing.
