MyWeb

MyWeb is retiring.

Since 1997, LMU has offered MyWeb as a solution for faculty who have needed web space for their teaching and research purposes. MyWeb server has become difficult to maintain and poses a security vulnerability, as the technology supporting it is now out-of-date. For both security and maintenance reasons, it is imperative that MyWeb is decommissioned as soon as possible. Therefore as of January 5, 2018, MyWeb will no longer be available.

In response to the changing web needs of the campus, LMU has adopted LMU.Build as the platform for LMU faculty, staff, and students to create web-based content. This system allows for secure, flexible content using a variety of web tools (including SFTP, PHP, MySQL, WordPress, Drupal, Wikis, and about two hundred more options).

Migration Options provided by ITS:
The Instructional Technologist is your first point-of-contact to evaluate which option is best suited for your needs.  Please send an email to ITS Help Desk at helpdesk@lmu.edu and include “MyWeb Migration” in the Subject line and your Instructional Technologist will contact you shortly.
  • LMU.Build (http://lmu.build) offers free domains and many web options, such as FTP, WordPress, and much more.
  • LMU Box (http://box.lmu.edu) is a great cloud storage for your files with unlimited space. You can easily share or collaborate with others.
  • Brightspace (http://brightspace.lmu.edu) is the campus adopted system for course-related material.
Migration Options provided by the Library:
Contact digitalcommons@lmu.edu to contribute your scholarship or to create your space.
  • Digital Commons is LMU’s institutional repository that archives faculty and student scholarship and provides access to the global community.

  • SelectedWorks is an optional add-on to Digital Commons. This is a space for LMU faculty to create and manage their own personal research pages.
