The following frequently asked questions and answers provide additional information on Duo enrollment as well.

  • You must enroll in Duo first before you can connect your account to Duo Mobile app or register any device.

    On a computer or a laptop, access one of the Duo-protected services.

    • From off-campus, use a computer or a laptop to access or (they'll both get you to your email); or
    • From on-campus or off-campus, login to MyLMU > System Logins > HR Self Service

    During the enrollment process, if you select to use a smartphone or a tablet as an authentication device, you have the optional step of activating the use of Duo Mobile app, which allows you to generate passcodes from the Duo Mobile app or use one-tap authentication with Duo Push. In order to use Duo Push, you will need to install Duo Mobile app on the primary device and then add your Duo account to the app.

    Duo enrollment is a one-time process. After the enrollment, you can change device settings or manage your devices. 

    Tips for a Successful Enrollment

    • We recommend you set aside 5-10 minutes to finish the process in one sitting!
    • On a computer or a laptop (not smartphone or tablet), open the email from Duo Security with your unique link. If you no longer have this email, access one of the Duo-protected services listed above.
    • Determine which authentication device you want to use. Review "How to determine if my devices are supported by Duo" section below to make sure your device is supported.
    • Consider registering a second device as a back-up. 
    • Install Duo Mobile app on your device. It is recommended that you install the app before you begin.
    • Make sure you "Allow Camera" on your device for scanning QR code.

    IMPORTANT: To start the Duo enrollment process, you need to click the unique link in the Duo email on a computer or a laptop.

    • Tablet devices running Windows Phone as their operating system is supported.

    • Android devices like Nexus 7, Nexus 10

    NOTE: Microsoft tablets that run a desktop operating system (such as the Surface Pro) are not a supported second factor of authentication.

  • Download Duo Mobile app to your primary mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet. To review a list of all supported devices, click here.

    1. Access one of the Duo-protected services.
      • From off-campus, use a computer or a laptop to access, or
      • From on-campus or off-campus, login to MyLMU > System Logins > Employee Self Service
    2. Provide your username and password as you normally do.
    3. If you have previously registered your device, you can select "My Settings and Devices" option on the left.
    4. If you have not enrolled in Duo, you will be prompted with "Start setup" button. The following videos will guide you through this one-time process.

  • Duo Push, recommended option, pushes a login request to your registered phone or tablet (if you have Duo Mobile installed and activated on your iOS, Android, or Windows Phone device). Just review the request and tap Approve to log in.
